I wear this for hockey. The women's pelvic protectors that come with women's jock or jill sock garters are ridiculous. Looking at my husband's mug, which was heavy plastic with a thick silicone band on the outside, I got the feeling companies like Bauer were joking about their Jills. The Bauer or Jill cymbal protector is a lightweight plastic with foam bonded to the back. I keep forgetting mine in my pants and throwing them in the laundry, and Bauer's gets destroyed a few times later. However, this Lo-Blu is tough and can withstand abuse. I removed the straps and just slipped it into the jill pocket holster. Suitable for puck, stick or groin hits. It also curves deeper for more protection, which I like. Sometimes it feels a bit strange when I put it on for the first time, but once I take the ice cream I never realize it.
