This saved me a ton of money not having to resort to replacements. It's a lot harder to change than they lead you to believe. As for the actual part of the key, I knocked the pin (see green arrow) out of my key and replaced the actual part of the key with the shaft of the new one, so I had no problems. There are no instructions, what is on the net is at best schematic, see You Tube. Before you begin, place your pillowcase on a large lighted table and work there. If you're not mechanically inclined, get someone to help you. This will save you a lot of disappointment. If I have to do it again I won't disassemble it (this is where it went bad without instructions) but pop out the pin and just replace the key shaft myself. You should try this first.
