Bright and Versatile Aquarium Lighting

This was a major lighting upgrade for an old 15 gallon aquarium that now houses native freshwater minnows, newts, crabs and a legless salamander to name but a few to name. . Once the algae growth had been tackled and the water was eventually relatively clear again, this LED aquarium light was a good light to use to bring out the colors along with its lighting options, dimming and timer features. I ordered the 22W (24-35 inch) size which fits our 15 gallon tank well. The rail hooks fit perfectly to the rim of the tank holding it securely enough. I don't have any other cover to speak of, so the tank is mostly open from the top. Because the tank is 30 inches long, I can adjust the position of the light along the adjustment rails to where I want it. This tank is out on our back porch, but it handles humidity and the occasional side rain with no problem. The controls are close enough to the aquarium that we can easily access the lighting controls. The timer is a good energy saving feature and allows your aquatic life to experience the sun's natural cycles with a few extra hours of light when needed. I would like the timer to be set to less than 6 hours, but that's basically what we use to keep the aquarium lit for a few extra hours after the sun goes down, which is especially nice on the short days of winter and fall will be seen. as well as; It only works on a 24-hour cycle, so it repeats the time interval based on when and what you select with the timer buttons. b dim both lighting settings and are saved when a time interval is selected. Although it's a bit more than what I typically pay for an aquarium light (currently $50), it appears to be well designed and built, adjustable and with its array of LEDs it should provide thousands of hours of light for our aquarium .
