Review on KuWFi Wireless Routers External Antennas by Victor Hurvitz

I purchased the EU version B1/B3/B7/B8/B20 for use outside the US. It was pretty easy to set up. I inserted the SIM card, turned it on and in a few seconds I had a working Wi-Fi network. I plugged in my computer and phone and both had internet access. I also tried the ethernet port and in a few moments I was connected and able to surf the web. Conclusion: It works. I connected the browser interface to the IP address given on the label. Later I'll try to post a video showing what the GUI involves. Some of my first observations: 1) very simple GUI. Simple navigation2) Very simple range of functions. For example, I can't find a way to turn off WiFi. I asked a product question - the answer says it can't be done - just hide the SSID (not what I'm looking for). 3) Enable/Disable DHCP has been grayed out (disabled). Seems to force DHCP. I haven't seen a way to reserve addresses. When asked about the product, the seller confirms that DHCP is always enabled and cannot be disabled. 4) Only WiFi connections are included in the list of connected devices, not through the wired Ethernet port. I haven't tried adding a switch to connect multiple devices yet. I assume it will work. (Update 08/29/2021: To find *all* connected devices, I use LAN Scanner, an app on my phone that I connect to a Wi-Fi network.) 5) Wired connection speed: Update 08/29/2021: I have started the connection process to my multiWAN router. I noticed that the wired ethernet port on this device is 100mb and not gigabit. I don't expect it to make a huge difference in my application. In any case, the speed over a 4G or 3G connection is limited to less than this value. The LED display is good. Displays useful information, some of which can be managed through the browser interface. After a while it turns off and you have to press the power button to turn it back on. Some other inexplicable "features": 1) The browser GUI contains three files that can be downloaded but don't know what they are for. Two of them are installation files, but it's not clear why. 2) it has a function to update the firmware (seems). But I have no idea where to find the update file. (Update 08/29/2021: I've contacted the manufacturer but they claim there are no updates at the moment.) 3) There is a microUSB connector - but it's not clear what it's supposed to be used for. The user manual says "To update the device and power the USB adapter (power supply) (emergency)" without explaining what it means. According to the question answered by the seller, I can connect a battery pack as an alternative power source. They also stated that it shouldn't be plugged into an AC adapter or it would "burn out the router". Haven't tried it yet. Now I'm just checking its basic functionality. Once I've confirmed everything is ok (so far it seems so), my specific application should use it as a backup WAN connection on the multiWAN router. So I don't really need Wi-Fi from this device (hence the reason I want to turn it off). Once I gain experience I will update this review. 4 stars because it seems to get the job done. 1 star because of limited functionality and missing documentation. But for the money this is a good deal and should solve my problem.
