Review on Enermax Aquafusion Addressable Cooling ELC AQF120SQA W by Damon Atonyo

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Great cooling and looks

I'm running this on a Ryzen 5 3600 (PBO enabled, -0.1V offset, 4200MHz clock for all cores) in the Nouvolo stack. This was tricky to install in my small enclosure as the conduits aren't super flexible and there's a TON of cable, but I figured it out. The RGB effects on the device are amazing and the pump is inaudible when I'm close to my ear. Unfortunately my motherboard doesn't have addressable RGB headers so I had to use the included controller (with all the extra cables) but it works well and allows you to change any settings you want. I would have preferred a remote control but I don't change my lighting scheme very often so it doesn't matter. The included fans are relatively quiet and bright, providing a nice RGB glow. With fans running at 50% speed, my 3600 reaches 78°C after 30 minutes AIDA64 stress test and 70-75°C after several hours of gaming. When the fans are running at 100%, my CPU temperature drops by 10°C, but at maximum speed they are quite noisy. At 50% they are audible but not loud at all and have an unobtrusive tone. I set them to run at 20% when the CPU temp is below 50C and at that speed they are completely silent. For the $80 I paid for the AIO, I'm very happy.

Pros
  • Cool
Cons
  • Good overall but...
