Great for RTL-SDR. You will also receive a pack of 3 different antennas. NooElec will also email you a link to set up this SDR on Windows. For the price, they're incredible to play around with to view the RF spectrum or check signal levels for your new scanner antenna! You also need to buy an adapter (SMA Male to F-Female) to connect the RG6 cable to set up an outdoor antenna to reduce interference (minimal noise) from your computer etc. Very revealing to see how good/poor the signal is coming to you and how much the noise level hovers underneath. You could spend thousands and get a high-end device for it, but this SDR (with free software) gives you almost the same accuracy for $25. I have at least one running all the time and after about an hour there is no drift! I've locked onto the P-25 control channel and the carrier hits the exact frequency and stays there all day. It has no drift. You can't ask for better performance. It receives radio signals in the approximately CB band (27 MHz) to 1.7 GHz. Great for "pirate experiment" type radios. You can hear and study any signal you point it at, but it will only decode audio on analog signals with standard software. P-25 digital signals etc. are simply heard as bursts of noise. These P-25/Trunk digital signals require two of these SDR modules and other software, as well as more advanced computer skills. You can also use it to view FM radio broadcasts and RDS data. You can hear them too. I also have a NESDR mini 2 but this is the best package. The case heats up but doesn't block another USB port, so this thing is thought through to the last detail. This is not a toy. NooElec gets my 5 stars for an incredible radio receiver device that is truly a complete advanced RF analysis tool at a low price. You don't know how great it really is. This is the device I've wanted for 40 years. Great product, NooElec!
