This item is as described. It captures the AC range at 600+ Mbps. Real word check is pretty good. Not as fast as some of the higher bandwidth USB users, but for the price it's a good buy. This isn't 5 stars because it's not plug and play like we'd like it to be. Even on Windows 10 machines I have 2 that just picked it up and some that need to inject their driver. I think the 2 that picked it up were previously installed with other USB WiFi users. As for Linux, I've tried Mint and Elementary. both "saw" it; so manual addition. As for the Mac, I'll try to see if it automatically picks up. I just upgraded to Sierra. Even if it doesn't work, I don't know if it's related to the upgrade or not for Mac. I bought 3 of these to replace a powerline hack, wifi repeater cover. It seems to replace these endpoints satisfactorily.
