This life jacket fits my pup perfectly. This allows it to move easily and still fit snugly where needed. This is a 45 pound, deep chested Border Collie, Lab mix, and XL clothing. We switched from the petsmart brand before a recent raft trip in Colorado. I am eternally grateful that we made it. When the boat went through a small whitewater, it capsized and the dog and I swam. The other kayak was able to grab our dog by the rear handle and steer towards me once I leveled the boat. A sternum strap in addition to the Velcro ensured we could lift him up, and a front strap kept his head above the water. The straps and velcro are strong and I'm sure they will withstand any future abuse. Seriously, spend a few bucks more, it's worth your peace of mind.
