I used to have a standard size Chemex and a large double wall French Press which I also really like. But I was looking for an easy and attractive way when I'm just making coffee for myself. I recently switched to decaffeinated coffee for medical reasons, but I still like the taste of coffee, my partner still prefers regular caffeinated coffee, so going with a smaller coffee maker made sense for me. This Chemex is the perfect solution for that - it makes about 1.5 standard coffee cups. Filled with coffee up to the impact indicator on the side. It's fairly easy to clean and has a hole wide enough to clean with a soap bottle brush. The jar feels solid, I haven't dropped it, but because it's small it's a bit easier to handle. I prefer glass spouts because they make it easier for me to see how much coffee I've brewed and avoid overfilling (I have a kitchen scale, but I don't want to be so precise in the morning). I bought a couple of reusable cloth coffee filters from another seller that were made to fit the size and shape of this Chimex and they work great. A clean, smooth coffee flavor that brews very efficiently with no bitterness and minimal acidity, which is my personal preference.
