I was able to use these with 12 gauge wire. I think it would be an exaggeration to say they accept 10 AWG wire. I can't say it doesn't work, but I can't see how because the clamping part of the connector tapers inwards (see image). I initially flooded the ends of the wire, but no matter how tight and little I tried to make the ends (12 AWG) they didn't fit. The internal shape of the clip is mostly square, so I cut new ends and pasted in the bare strands. A NOTICE! I didn't twist the strands but carefully pasted them to match the corners of the clip area. Ready! In the end it's very simple, just don't overdo it.
