I bought these because I really liked the idea of using less sponge - sponges can get pretty rough easily which I don't like the idea of "washing" dishes with a sponge containing bacteria. These gloves are comfortable, durable, the silicone bristles lather soap very well, and the bristles on the fingers are very handy for cleaning hard-to-reach places (like the back alleys of my food processor, a lifesaver there). The only downside is that if, like me, you wash every dish after washing, you end up using a lot more soap as the soap will wash off your gloves as long as you keep the dishes under the tap. And with soapy hands, you need to rinse the mitt to wash the soap off the plate. I ended up using a regular mitt and a cleaning mitt so I could rub with one hand and rinse with the other.
