TERRIBLE ARTICLE: Lighting and Ceiling Fans

Yesterday my wife worked over 3 hours installing this ceiling fan. Ceiling bracket did not fit. I had to drill holes to fit the screws from the junction box. When we finished, the lights wouldn't come on and the leaves scraped against the fan switch. Today I disassembled it again and found an error in the wiring of the headlights. It was our fault. I took off all the fan blades and tried to twist the case because it was crooked. Everything aligned and reassembled. Now the fan doesn't work. I disassembled everything again. The switch is hardwired, which is good if it works. I've tried tugging on the chain a few times and sometimes it worked, but most of the time it didn't. I could hear a small pop or pop, like a spark trying to make contact as I tugged on the chain from time to time. Now they are completely separated and I don't know what to do. I DO NOT RECOMMEND BUYING THIS PRODUCT! It's a piece of shit.
