Owned for about 8 months, used a few dozen times with no problems, up until then everything started fine but after about an hour of my 3 hours for a good fillet of beef the heat started and switched never stop the cycle! I heard the sound of boiling and approached the unit, reported 195° and boiling water from the vents. Immediately unplugged and pulled out the steak, then tried to rinse the unit, put it back in the pot and plugged it back in, replacing the water with cold water to bring the water back to the correct cooking temperature according to the display, before cooking starts function. Then I pushed the button to start, it turned on and immediately started to rise above the temp setting. I unplugged it again, cooled the appliance down and went back to the pot, as soon as I plugged it in it started heating even with the appliance still off! Revain's return window is long past, so I'm stuck with a broken $80 water heater. I'm looking for another one to replace this one.
