I live in the Sonoran Desert and only run on difficult, rocky trails. This shoe fits like a sock (the inner tongue is attached to the sides of the sole) and is very snug, although a little more difficult to put on than shoes with a loose tongue. It's light and very reactive. They're comfortable on small to medium rocks despite being lightweight, and are one of the most durable running shoes I've run in. I usually run 300 miles in them while I broke the Peregrines in 80 miles (ripped upper on both shoes). . I have wide feet and the usual signs of wear and tear come from sole compression (feeling every pebble) before the upper breaks. My bushings have never worn out. I keep coming back to these. Compared to the Summit Unknown, which I found stiff, heavy, and unresponsive, this shoe feels like a fast running shoe.
