This splitter will probably work great with other devices, but DO NOT buy this if you have a Mac. The product description is wrong, it just doesn't have the right connection to the Apple headphone jack. I learned from the informational video on YouTube that there are two types of TRRS connectors: the CTIA standard is used by Apple, latest LG, latest Samsung, most Android phones, Microsoft, etc. The OMTP standard is used by Nokia, the old Samsung, Sony (Playstation Vita, OnePlus One, etc.). The difference is that the ring in the connector that receives information from the microphone is switched. No matter what I did, my Macbook Pro 2015 didn't recognize the external microphone with the splitter. This splitter is likely OMTP and is not advertised as such. Some clear disclaimers should be added!
