Problems with the silicone seal on the cork

Nice, stylish bottle, but the cork doesn't sit well in the neck of the bottle. As another customer mentioned, if you press the cork and the cork keeps popping out of the bottle, the air has nowhere to go. I've tried using a sharp knife to cut slits in the silicone pad that wraps around the cork and then scissors to cut some of the pieces and it's better but it still doesn't quite stick through. The silicone seal can be removed.
