Just completed a two day cyclocross weekend in just above freezing. This cap was great. It was very snug on my head (I have a big head) and never felt like it would dangle, even without the helmet on. The ear cups protected your ears from the cold without blocking too much sound, but you can just fold them down when you don't need to cover them. If you have long hair there is a hole in the back for a ponytail, which I don't have, but it was still useful to see where the "back" of the cap was without looking very closely.
