I have had a Roomba at home for about 2 years now and we run it every day due to our two outgoing dogs. I decided I wanted one for the attic/den upstairs but didn't want to spend $300 on a well known brand. This sub $100 device caught my eye and I decided to give it a try. First of all, I would not like to recommend this device for people with thick carpet, since the performance in this area is very poor. The suction portion of this unit doesn't have rotating bristles like my more expensive Roomba, so it can only be used on hard surfaces or hard carpet. And as for carpets or floor mats, it struggles to get up on them, as the rotating brushes on the sides seem to jam underneath, preventing the device from getting up on them. In addition, when the device is stuck, it will turn off and beep, and the red LED will light up. In addition, the device works great. The suction power is more than enough to pick up dog hair, loose dirt and dust. This unit doesn't seem to know when a room has been fully cleaned like some of the pricier models (it doesn't have a dock), so I only let it run for about 30 minutes and it covers the entire range here pretty well. . Removing the dust box is extremely easy and takes less than 15 seconds or so. As you can see in the picture, in about a week and a half it was collecting dirt which was collecting very well. The device also handles walls/objects well - when it collides with them, it changes direction and clears the sides. Maintenance - Cleaning the filter with compressed air is easy and maintains suction power. And should the batteries need replacing in the future, the kit includes three 18650s, making it easy for the DIY enthusiast to get the unit up and running again! No expensive batteries!
