Review on Biltek NPTC PT002 1Z Cylinder Compressor Automotive by David Miller

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Glue the thread adapter to the clamp at the end of the hose before inserting into the deep spark plug hole.

High quality compression tester except for one issue you should be aware of. The corrugated metal ends at each end of the hose where it connects to the valve (under the gauge itself) and the other end, at the threaded adapter for the spark plug hole, are free to rotate. In other words, you can screw the adapter with the hose into the spark plug hole yourself, but only halfway. This was normal as the o-ring on the adapter sealed the cylinder head well enough. However, when the adapter is loosened, the crimped end of the hose (and in my case) can rotate WITHOUT rotating the adapter. What to do with an adapter in an otherwise inaccessible spark plug tube? Fortunately, after a while I managed to unscrew the adapter. Solution: Glue the crimped end of the tubing to the nearest end of the adapter using epoxy glue. It doesn't matter if the hose end that pushes and releases the valve can rotate independently, as long as you can rotate the hose. It would be a solid FIVE stars if the adapter and hose were firmly connected.

Pros
  • New Automotive Flex 14mm and 18mm compression tester
Cons
  • Ugly packaging
