I will use them to design terrariums with air plants on them. The color is exactly the same as in the picture. The shards are a bit sharp, but not razor-sharp glass shards, and you'll need to rinse them off before using them as there are tiny shards in the packaging that you probably don't want to step on. I rinsed mine with water to get rid of the tiny bits and they were the filler of choice for my "terrarium focus group" over much more expensive options (like small polished gems).
