My previous surge protectors for the office desk were for 6 sockets. As I added more peripherals, I upgraded to 8 outlets. But even 8 wasn't enough as I had to connect all the elements. And since some of my peripherals contained huge adapter heads, I easily lost 1 or 2 outlets. And no, I wasn't planning on chaining shards like many of us do. This is very dangerous and poses a real fire safety problem. But this surge protector really is the best I've seen in a long time. All outputs are spaced in case you have large adapters. 12 sockets so you don't have to worry about running out of sockets. Each of the sockets has a cover to protect against children, animals and dust. There are also 4 USB ports for charging controllers, audio devices and phones. Very happy with this product and also at a good price.
