I think it smells like a new car but not really. My sense of smell isn't the best but others say it smells like wood or a finish that can be used on wood. To me it doesn't smell terrible like other products I've used. It's definitely not overwhelming. I didn't even dilute it, there is almost no smell. Therefore, I will not use it diluted, otherwise the smell will simply disappear. It is good enough that I will not be returning this item to exchange for another. However, I will try another one once this one is ready.
