Review on Insect Display Case Bug Collection Box - Clear Glass Top, EVA Foam Pinning Board, 300pcs Pins - Entomology Supplies for Collecting Butterfly Specimen - Carbonized Black by Tutcht Cobb

Plastic board, no glass, the quality is the same as the price

I bought this mainly for displaying ornamental insects, not scientific. Good quality foam, cleats too. The wood is light (probably balsa) and tinted black, so you need to prevent black smudges from getting onto the display. The box is not built like a typical entomological display case or cut to have a fitting lid, but cut through. The hinges are a bit flimsy, but I don't plan on opening it again. I might even seal it since the lid isn't installed (it's decorative, but I still don't want my patterns and display to get dirty or decompose). What really bothers me is that the description says the lid is a clear glass top. It's not glass, it's thick plastic, it's scratched and attached to the lid like a picture frame. You get what you pay for and I'll make it work. I'm just going to cut my piece of glass and attach it to it. I think this would work as a jewelry box rather than an entomological display. I'm sure it would be good for kids who are just learning about or trying out insects, but not for those who are serious. Next time I will set aside extra money for a professionally assembled case.

Pros
  • High quality material: the foam is made of high-density EVA material, which has elasticity and is not easily deformed or broken; Entomology Badges are made of high quality stainless steel to reduce rust and improve preservation of your specimens, suitable for long-term use. And display case made of wood with transparent and glass lid
