Does what it says on the box

I had no problems with these needles, they come in a plastic tube with a cap that snaps tight to hold all your needles together. As they are size #0 they are obviously quite brittle when bent but I have not broken them and they are strong enough to glue into a suitable medium such as styrofoam or bowboard if used properly. An absolutely wonderful product!

Pros
  • Stainless steel insect needles improve presentation of your specimens
Cons
  • Some insects

Get what you pay for

These pins are made by a man who worked at the museum pinning specimens. These are decent quality lapel pins for high school collections or other similar uses. However, the tips of the pens seem to be made out of cheaper plastic which I think will wear out over time with collection or frequent handling. The pens are also longer than I'm used to so make sure they will fit in your case/box. Bottom line: a non-professional quality build that will last, but isn't very expensive either.

Pros
  • Packaged in strong, secure, hard plastic bottles for easy access, efficient organization and storage
Cons
  • Not bad, but...

I didn't want the pins to distract from the arrangement itself and they were perfect. They're pretty strong too. They support the weight of a raccoon and possum skull, so I'd say they're pretty sturdy. My only complaint is that they're a bit flimsy and will bend if you try to push them through, but that's to be expected as they're not meant to be visible. Be…
