Good motion response: lousy job repelling cats
Since the price of Ssscat spray has doubled I was hoping to find an inexpensive alternative. The Tattle Tale promised it would kick off when a pet approached. Surprisingly, even on my stone countertops, this device really picks up the slightest bit of vibration. However, the sound he makes is so low and harmless that my cats didn't react at all. Honestly, the beeps and tones you regularly hear from the microwave, dryer, iPad, timers, etc. are even more intimidating and render this particular device utterly ineffective.
