Review on πŸ” Holulo Non-Slip Soldering Workshop Magnifier by Mario Beckwith

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Stable base, good clips, but the lamp socket is a little loose

This is just what I need in soldering tools, with a few features.1. Clamps: I don't think they mention this in the description, but mine came with five clamps (and a sixth for a gooseneck lamp). They only have five holes in the base so you can choose between five clips or four clips + lamp. The arms are strong, stable and flexible throughout their length, maintaining their position to the end. 2. Braces: Other users say they slip. I noticed that each clip had a flat side with two holes drilled. The bottom hole was supposed to line up with the thumbscrew on the arm and with one exception I was able to insert it and do just that - then the clips were securely in place. One exception had a blink or something in the hole and when I dug it up everything worked as expected.3. Gooseneck lamp: That was my only criticism. Gooseneck is much messier than for hands. Getting the magnifying glass/light ring in the right place was more difficult than it should be, although it works (see first photo showing the shot through the magnifying glass). It was nice to have four brackets. I used three to hold the piece stable and a fourth to hold the solder. The lamp is nice and bright, although I don't see why you would want anything other than daylight (brightest, coolest). Obviously they just reused the default ring light design, probably because they had it, but it's an unnecessary feature in my opinion.

Pros
  • Welding and soldering
Cons
  • Crumpled packaging
