Bought to be able to kayak in winter. I'm 5'10" / 160 lbs and I usually wear medium sized shirts. The medium/large size fits perfectly. The suit is very well made. It made me feel completely comfortable. I haven't dropped it in cold water yet leave it on, but I think it will do the job just fine. You sweat a lot in a suit, and it kind of retains moisture and warmth. If you take them off outside, you'll freeze quickly because you're soaked in sweat. But if you don't, it is it's ok. I assume the opposite is true for cold water outside. The suit has fairly tight seals around all the openings so water doesn't get in there.
