Beautiful Color, Sizing Snug, Holes Between Stitches Visible With Movement

I have had this sweater for more than 2 months now. There are some things I love about it, namely the color, I love the color a lot, and that the viscose (aka rayon) yarn is soft to the touch.I have two concerns with this sweater. The first, is more of a cautionary tale. I got the size that is marketed to fit a size 6 through 10 in US sizing. So, I'm a size 8 in US sizing, which is smack dab in the middle of that range. And I have to say, I wouldn't want this thing any more snug then it is. It shows bra straps in the back, and there's no way in anywhere you could convince me to wear this when I'm experiencing menstruation bloat. Seriously, none. It's at the borderline of what I consider comfortable with in terms of clingy. It definitely clings. My most honest recommendation would be if you actually are a size 10, to purchase the next size up because it may end up showing more then you are comfortable with otherwise. The thing that bothers me the most personally is that the weave gapes half a pencil eraser size holes in them at some points as you move. It's not the end of the world, but having a hole big enough that my daughter indignantly told me she can identify the color of my bra through it was not the highlight of my day last time I wore it. As a woman experienced in the art of crochet, who has made crochet garments, and as a person who is a lousy knitter, I suspect that perhaps the tension wasn't always so consistent on their machine that they used to pump these out on. Because when I can't get my knitting tension right, yah, it gets those types of holes. Holes my crochet stuff doesn't have because I have much better tension control with that skill. I don't think it's a huge problem, but it definitely bothers me enough to take a star off for it.

Pros
  • It fits, but it's long (about 3 inches above my knees).
Cons
  • The dress may not hang correctly
