I've owned 3 different cars in the last 15 years and probably spent about $100 on 5 or 6 phone cases with vents for iPhone 4, 5, 6 and 8 deflector 2) The longer you use them the more likely it is it that they break the deflector blades. 3) Blowing in hot air in winter is not good for your battery, especially when charging in a holster. 4) Clamping mechanisms are cheap and flimsy and often fail in a year or two. This holster solves ALL problems. The ball mount print matches the business card holders in VW/Audi cars (which I still find COMPLETELY useless) and its UBER fest (read: safe). Also, it's mostly out of sight of the car radio and high up on the dashboard, so it's very easy to see my phone's screen when I'm using GPS (2014 VW Tiguan dashboard). literally just drop and go, one handed operation for plugging and unplugging the phone, and it's very secure, though only if you want the phone to be vertical. I tried horizontally and slipped out, so that's not possible. Some parts are metal, but most are plastic. The parts that come into contact with the phone are equipped with soft pads. The springs don't loosen, the gears in the clamping mechanism don't loosen, the foam pads don't loosen in the heat of the dashboard. I have never spent more than β¬20 on a holster. It was totally worth it.
