Good soft plastic for beginners. However, if you already have a good metal yo-yo and are looking for a plastic yo-yo to try new tricks, don't push yourself. That's not it. It doesn't spin for more than about 15 seconds on a hard throw. There's no way to roll further, and the raised sides make it easier to roll back, but they get in the way when trying to cast sideways.
