Underrated DSLR lenses

I use this lens on my EM-10. First of all, yes, the autofocus is a bit noisy, and I'm not the biggest fan of non-internal focusing lenses (of all my lenses, only this one and my 4/3 35mm macro don't work). ). Chromatic aberration and slight vignette are there if that's what you're looking for. Despite these aspects, I really like the lens. The focusing speed, while not as fast as newer prime lenses (Olympus 17mm, 1.8, 25mm, 45mm), is on par with the kit lens (14-42 R2), so with this lens you don't get any will take unusual shots. This lens is perfect for any of the pens or versions of the EM-10, its size and weight make it a great choice. I keep it and the 25mm (per camera) in a very small Manfrotto bag (amica 10) - a great and compact prime package. Minus 1 frame where I almost shot in the sun. I had no problems with the limitations of this lens. For the price and size you can't go wrong with the smaller m4/3 cameras. For most, an extra lens hood or so, the 17mm f1.8 makes the price difference hard to justify (especially since the new bodies mean you can upgrade to iso3200 without too much noise).

Pros
  • There's something to it
Cons
  • Some little things
