Review on Bergan Turbo Scratcher Replacement Pads by Cathy Wood

Revainrating 5 out of 5

A satisfying scratch for everyone!

I have three cats and a Bergen Turbo Scratcher. If there was more floor space I would have three Turbo Scratchers because the little brats love it so much but unfortunately they have to share. That means the scratching post rarely goes unoccupied and the cardboard center goes from a solid circle to a million little pieces all over the living room in a matter of weeks. In an effort to keep the peace in the house and hopefully get more hours of sleep, I keep a supply of spare hubs on hand to avoid a riot if the house is demolished. scratches, and the center needs to be flattened a bit to fit underneath, but the result is a snug fit that will withstand the toughest, most hefty scratches. The youngest (and baddest) *must* have her claws very sharp to cut through flesh whenever a whim arises, and does so by scratching for more than 5 minutes several times a day. My old man, thinking he's just a kitten, lunges at him hard and fast with a raging rage, runs around the house and then rushes back to sharpen himself quickly before making his way around something to eat. The eldest, rescued without claws, just loves to pick at the edges with her little fingers and squeeze them between the ledges in the box and rip it apart. Between the three, the scratching post wears out quite a bit. It's still in amazing condition and the only part that ever needed replacing was the box center so I'm glad there are replacement centers. I wouldn't want to change everything just for that. I've noticed that the new box wears out differently than the original - not that it falls apart faster, but rather that the circles fall apart rather than crumble completely. Maybe they're made of stronger cardboard, but with less strong glue? Anyway the boys are happy and apparently a scratch is more fun than a sofa so I'm happy.

Pros
  • Pet Supplies
Cons
  • Good, but not great
