Review on 🔧 Efficient Hyde Tools 13080 Utility Scraper: A Must-Have for Versatile Scraping Tasks by Kevin Hawkins

I bought this scraper specifically to clean hard water from the pool tiles. Here in the West, hard water leaves hard-to-remove deposits throughout the pool. First I tried a regular window scraper with square blades. As you know, these blades are pretty thin. I found that the blades weren't stiff enough to cut through tough water deposits, the blades just flexed and went off scale. I have found that the stiffer utility knife blades used in this Hyde scraper are much stiffer and therefore cut the scales. So this scraper works in tougher conditions and still uses replaceable blades. Two comments specific to this product: 1. It's entirely plastic so it's ok, but it flexes when scraped hard. I would have preferred an all metal version but couldn't find one. 2. Knife blades are not universal - most standard blades will not fit this scraper. These blades have a square hole that fits a square plastic pin molded into the black blade holder. The black part extends and retracts the blade and a notch/pin is required for this function. Without a square hole, the blade will not fit here.
