I bought these to add overhead lighting to a large room that didn't have any, as I was tired of my room being so dark. I got them plugged in and strung up only to find that they're not very bright. Even on 5k at 100% I still have to turn down the brightness on my computer monitor because my room is so dimly lit that it hurts my eyes to look at it. Also, the plug only has two prongs. This is the 21st century, it's pretty backwards to not have a ground prong on your plugs in this day and age. When flipping them on with a light switch, they take about 2.5 seconds to actually turn on (this is in Southern California in late May, so it's not due to being too cold). If you leave the switch on and activate them with the remote, they light up instantly.Other than that though, the remote came with batteries, a spare remote is included, a few spare bulbs are included. The plastic bulbs make hanging them a much less delicate operation, and the light is nice. They'd be perfect for some ambiance lighting, they're just not so great for illumination purposes.
