I'm NOT impressed with "bells and whistles". This is a regular coffee maker that makes good coffee. I have had a Bunn coffee maker for OVER TEN YEARS. It boils the pot faster than any other machine I've had. It uses larger filters which are EASILY AVAILABLE AT ANY GROCERY STORE. If they're not there, go to Costco/Sam's Club/Smart & Final or similar. I haven't noticed a HUGE increase in my electricity bill, in fact I haven't had any increase in electricity consumption using this coffee maker compared to others. The way energy is used is different, but the total amount of energy is about the same. So you can buy a machine like this for $100-$160 for years of use, or spend $50-$100 on something else every 6 months to 2 years (they usually break just after the warranty expires) - your choice.
