This is the best coffee grinder for people who have difficulty using their hands. I used a hand grinder and found it very difficult to turn due to loss of strength and manual dexterity. I bought a battery powered salt/pepper grinder and wasn't happy. I needed so many batteries that they were heavy and uncomfortable to hold and worse, they burned through the batteries like a hot knife through butter. The ratchet grinder moves easily and is actually "fun" to use. I have one for salt, one for pepper, and a third for grinding other spices. Feel free to buy this, you will be very happy you did!
