I decided to try the Ethique shampoo bar and conditioner. I'm trying to reduce packaging waste and stop paying as much for liquids that are mostly water and bars are safe to fly (when it's safe to fly). They are fantastic, made my hair softer and shinier than Tressemme. I used Suave and Pantene and the water is very hard. The bars don't have a strong scent and just leave my hair smelling clean. The initial investment is high compared to a bottle of shampoo or conditioner (depending on the products you typically buy), but reviews say it lasts about as much as 6 bottles each because you use a lot less product. Definitely true, my hard water requires a lot more liquid shampoo to lather up and usually two shampoos per shower to completely cleanse my hair of all residue. And since my hair is long, I use A LOT of liquid conditioner. With the strip it was just a few strokes from the scalp to the ends on each side of my head and a few at the back of my head and enough shampoo/conditioner was applied all over my head. easy to work through all my hair. A few more swipes of the shampoo bar, but it's larger than the conditioner bar. No second shampoo needed. I recommend! UPDATE 9/10 AFTER THREE WEEKS OF USE: Still loving these bars! It has barely subsided, the product is really helping, and my normally thick, coarse hair has never been this shiny or bouncy - seriously, it looks better than it did after the argan oil treatment. I think there was really a build up of product on my hair from using regular shampoos and conditioners and I just never noticed it. STILL RECOMMEND! ='D10/5 AFTER SIX WEEKS OF USE UPDATE: At this point I don't think I will ever go back to liquids while these bars are available. While my hair has always been thick and healthy, it has never been shiny and has become coarser with age. I now know that the reason shine-enhancing products never worked for me was because of product composition. There is no build up with these bars, my hair just feels very clean and smells very clean. My hair is just shiny now and it feels so soft and bouncy. It looks lighter and the natural curl is more pronounced I think because it isn't weighed down with residue anymore. A fantastic product, ethically sourced and manufactured.
