Review on πŸ”Š Power up your Home Theater with the Acoustic Audio WS1005 Passive Subwoofer Amp: 200W Amplifier for Immersive Audio Experience by Douglas Irwin

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Great price, lots of power and only minor flaws

Some cons: IIRC, the LFE/Normal switch seems to have been swapped and works in reverse. Not that it's impractical, but I don't think it's surprising for a cheap amp in a not-so-popular amp class. It gets a bit warm so I would keep it outside instead of hiding it where it can't air. .There is no automatic on/off switch. Having to manually turn this thing on when I turn on my stereo is annoying, and I don't want to just leave it on 24/7. However, I would recommend these smart surge protection bands. They automatically switch off the slave outputs (to which a subwoofer is connected) when the control output (to which a stereo system is connected) is switched off. Smart Strip LCG-3M Energy Saving Surge Protector with Auto-Switching Technology, 10 Outlets Connecting the power cord can be a bit tricky. Move it to the right and it turns off. So plug it in securely and leave it alone. Pros: Enough power even for my 8" Alpine at 4 ohms (150-350W RMS nominal). I like the crossover grip. You want the rest of your system to handle the mids and highs. Looks great and fits great to the black subwoofer. It's also small enough to easily mount on top of a subwoofer if that's your thing. Price. Pretty cheap for such an important purpose and gave me the freedom to get my own subwoofer, put a box together and using it for home theater I'm tired of looking for a good subwoofer that isn't too expensive.
