Overall these are really good leggings. I've used them on a variety of snow and ice trails in the Pacific Northwest. I ordered a very large because my boot size is 48 but the size should fit your calf size so now even when fully tightened with the adjusters they are a little loose on me (6ft 1.40cm calves all around ). I've put a few holes and cuts in them with my crampons, but overall they're pretty solid. I think because mine are a bit loose, they're probably more prone to snapping/getting in the way. The attachment hooks and straps around the boot hold and adjust very well. I'll probably buy another smaller pair when they wear out.
