The fit must be precise. Heavy but durable.

My second pair of these leggings just arrived and they seem to fit. Haven't used them yet as the first pair in size XL was too big despite using the size chart provided. The lack of elastic at the bottom hem makes sizing more important and difficult than, say, with the stretchy Rocky Mountain High Gaiters. These gaiters are much stronger and heavier than the RMH gaiters, but certainly more durable. At the same time, RMH gaiters could safely be thrown in a backpack because they were very light…

All in all these are really good socks. I've used them on many.

Overall these are really good leggings. I've used them on a variety of snow and ice trails in the Pacific Northwest. I ordered a very large because my boot size is 48 but the size should fit your calf size so now even when fully tightened with the adjusters they are a little loose on me (6ft 1.40cm calves all around ). I've put a few holes and cuts in them with my crampons, but overall they're pretty solid. I think because mine are a bit loose, they're probably more prone to snapping/getting in

Gaiters - Outdoor Research

These gaiters fit me perfectly. I weigh 210 pounds and am 5 feet 11 inches tall. I wear size 10 shoes. I bought a size large for me. I just used gaiters last week. I have walked many miles uphill and downhill in the woods and through thickets in the woods. The gaiters held up very well on my leg. You want them to fit snugly so they don't fall on your leg. The leggings were just below my knee. They cover most of my laces on my hiking boots. I live in Missouri so we have a lot of poison ivy and…

A must have for backcountry gear

Bought these for my first mountaineering trip and I love them. I've waded (no kidding) through 2 to 4 foot snowdrifts and pointed the snow at a high mountain lake and it has kept my boots and feet dry and protected for several days. Even after many, and I mean MANY, falls and slips in deeper snow/melt and even river crossings, my boots and I were cool and dry. I used the sizing chart listed on the OR website and they fit my feet like a premium glove. They are not loose and baggy like the…

Leggings that keep what they promise!

These leggings are worth every dollar!. I walk in the woods a lot and have bought a cheaper pair of leggings before and there just isn't anything else that compares - you really get what you pay for. I put the working gaiters through a really tough water test - wade through many streams where the water was ankle high and guess what - NO WATER IN MY Lowa Renegade GTX BOOTS! It wouldn't have been possible with my old $30 leggings. Also, the loop on the boots doesn't come loose like it did on my…

Size Medium in Gaiters

The Medium size is perfect for size 9-12 hunting boots. I use Gortex boots from Cabela by Meindl, size 10 and after a small adjustment they fit perfectly at the base of my boots and adjust very well at the top. If you've just received them and are trying them on for use, start below. I adjusted the bottom strap to 8 notches and the bottom of the velcro lined up perfectly and attaching the bottom loop to the laces tightened it perfectly around the base. Fasten the Velcro from the bottom up, then
