I found two websites for ATEQ, ateq-tpms and ateqtpm, and they both have similar but different manuals. The ateqtpm website has a manual for the VT-30 and both have the same software. So I got the guide and it helped me a lot! Download the software and install it in a Windows 7 virtual machine on my Macbook, works great. Put your device in "download mode" which means turn it off, unplug it from the USB (which the manual doesn't mention) and then hold down the left arrow key and the power button until it shows up in download mode becomes. (which is very quick). THEN launch the WebVT software and connect the USB cable to begin the upgrade process. It didn't work the first time (don't know why), but it worked the second time. I couldn't immediately activate/read the TPM on my bikes, I pointed the antenna at the valve stem but it kept saying no TPM detected. I moved it closer (touching) and further away, but it wasn't until I pointed it at the wheel above the valve stem that it activated and immediately read the sensor. I was able to read all 4 winter tire sensors (from Tire Rack for a 2014 Subaru WRX). I didn't do anything to explicitly activate these sensors, so either the VT-30 did it automatically or they activated (we'll never know). The tool says it can enable them, so maybe it did. I read the codes and put them into the ATEQ QuickSet software so I'm hoping in a few months when I change tires I won't see the tire pressure gauge. my dash for the 6 winter months we have here in Minnesota! The cost of the tool is about $20 more than taking my car and wheels to the dealer to activate and program, so it's probably worth it in the long run as I'll probably spend more than those 5 minutes of use, but even if I don't, the time savings are worth it.
