Worked well for me for Tire Pressure Monitoring Systems (TPMS)

Bought winter kit for 2018 WRX and Quickset was hoping TPMS would activate, wonder why they don't. I entered the Qucikset identification codes and of course the indicator on the dashboard stayed lit. The dealer wanted over $160 to get the car TPMS programmed. I ordered a VT30, right out of the box, put in the battery, started the car, pointed to the valve stem and pushed the button. The 1st sensor lasted 10-15 seconds, the other 3 - 2-3 seconds. I got in the car and the dashboard had alreadyโ€ฆ

I've never been able to wake up/read TPMS sensors, multiple vehicles.

I was trying to use this unit to wake up the TPMS sensors and read the IDs so I can program them into my ECU myself so the dealer doesn't have to. Well, even after trying my best to update the firmware on the device and also trying multiple tires/sensors, I just couldn't get this device to read anything I had, even though I had the right settings. I know if it was a random event or something but in the long run it didn't matter since I could get my ID directly from the seller. This would be aโ€ฆ

Working but display could be better

I was able to read the sensors on my 2012 Subaru Outback but found some pretty annoying issues. For $100 I'm very disappointed that it doesn't have a backplate. -light and then made worse by resetting the contrast every time the device is turned off, making it a bit annoying to use. Another problem I've encountered is that it sometimes makes multiple attempts to read the sensor. Not sure if it's because my (to my knowledge) 7 year old originals are for the car and are wearing out, something atโ€ฆ

I have to admit I was spooked by the poor reviews of the ATEQ VT30 and VT31, but I'm sick of paying tire shops and/or dealers over $120 for TPMS sensor activation or repair of TPMS-related problems. I placed my order last night between 8pm and 9pm PST on 4th June 2018 and received my ATEQ VT31 just before 1pm PST on 5th June 2018. The light came on after new heavy-duty summer wheels and tires were fitted. I bought a set of summer wheels with the new OEM Subaru TPMS sensors, but the OEM Subaruโ€ฆ

Pretty easy to use to read my TPM sensors.

First I called my local Subaru dealer and they said it would cost me $300 to register my new sensors. Talk about exploiting X_x people. a local store worth $75. Les Schwab quoted me $25 but noticed they had to wait about 2 hours. I started searching online and finally bought this tool. A NOTICE. The ateq website says this device is no longer in production but will be supported until 2022. The VT30 was easy to use and the device drivers work well. It reads any tire sensor on the first try andโ€ฆ

Rough start but worked in the end

I found two websites for ATEQ, ateq-tpms and ateqtpm, and they both have similar but different manuals. The ateqtpm website has a manual for the VT-30 and both have the same software. So I got the guide and it helped me a lot! Download the software and install it in a Windows 7 virtual machine on my Macbook, works great. Put your device in "download mode" which means turn it off, unplug it from the USB (which the manual doesn't mention) and then hold down the left arrow key and the power button

save your money for accessories and parts

Can easily replace a good TPM. I tested new TPMs when they were still in the "box" and still wrapped in "plastic" with the VT31. Works normally and reads ID/Temperature/Pressure/Battery. Installation started. Raise vehicle, remove tire, remove valve core, break tire bead, remove old TPM, mount new TPM, inflate tire, mount tire, lower vehicle. Check TPMS with VT31 sensor WAS not detected. Raise vehicle, remove tire, remove valve insert, break tire bead, remove new tire pressure, check with VT31โ€ฆ
