Working but display could be better

I was able to read the sensors on my 2012 Subaru Outback but found some pretty annoying issues. For $100 I'm very disappointed that it doesn't have a backplate. -light and then made worse by resetting the contrast every time the device is turned off, making it a bit annoying to use. Another problem I've encountered is that it sometimes makes multiple attempts to read the sensor. Not sure if it's because my (to my knowledge) 7 year old originals are for the car and are wearing out, something at the reader or local interference. It didn't seem to follow any pattern, sometimes reading the same sensor more than once, reading perfectly, then failing several times, then reading perfectly again. At best, it's an imprecise science. Another thing I see is that the chart shows that a brand new 9V battery was about 2/3 of the pack full - I'm not sure if the meter is a little off or draining what is fast. The battery compartment is quite big, they could put some AA instead of 9V. I might consider buying one of the rechargeable lithium microUSB "9V" things and a Qi wireless charger if it turns out that the battery is actually draining that quickly. Hopefully I can then just toss it in the charger. a mini USB port which I believe is for updates, but I haven't tried updating it yet. I've tried powering it from a USB port and it doesn't seem to boot, you really need a 9V battery. I will say this is the cheapest tool I have found on sale to reset the TPMS sensor data and it kinda worked.
