First I called my local Subaru dealer and they said it would cost me $300 to register my new sensors. Talk about exploiting X_x people. a local store worth $75. Les Schwab quoted me $25 but noticed they had to wait about 2 hours. I started searching online and finally bought this tool. A NOTICE. The ateq website says this device is no longer in production but will be supported until 2022. The VT30 was easy to use and the device drivers work well. It reads any tire sensor on the first try and only takes a few seconds. saves tire information even when the screen is turned off, but clears the information when you fully return to the main menu. I used this tool to read the sensor information and then used the quick install tool to program my controller. Subaru WRX 2020 comes in box with tools, USB cable and CD. I have no reason for a CD drive. who?! I went to the ateq website (ateq-tpms.com) and downloaded the software (I have Windows 10, it installed with no problems). It was an executable (exe) that ran the installer and only took a few minutes. The VT30 product support page has a link to the user manual. I chose English and read the manual to understand what I was getting myself into. I then went through the manual according to his instructions. Took me about 10 minutes to set it up. When everything was ready I went to my car and turned on the VT30, took it to the tire as instructed in the owner's manual and read each tire individually. I wrote down the tire IDs and noted which wheel they were on (front left, rear left, rear right, front right). I then used the quick setup tool (sold separately) to write the sensor IDs into the ECU. The Quick Setup Tool also works with other software and other device drivers.
