Can easily replace a good TPM. I tested new TPMs when they were still in the "box" and still wrapped in "plastic" with the VT31. Works normally and reads ID/Temperature/Pressure/Battery. Installation started. Raise vehicle, remove tire, remove valve core, break tire bead, remove old TPM, mount new TPM, inflate tire, mount tire, lower vehicle. Check TPMS with VT31 sensor WAS not detected. Raise vehicle, remove tire, remove valve insert, break tire bead, remove new tire pressure, check with VT31 whether tire pressure is OK. WHAT.tpms fires and VT31 sees ID/Temperature/Pressure/Battery. Run old tpms.super WAS. old tpms is good.id/temp/pressure/battery it's ok. So install new TPMs, but before you inflate the tire. Sensor not found. Click on the bus bead to open tpms. VT31 starts TPMS. It is not possible to start tpms when tpms is on the bus. It is strange. Approach the neighbor's RAV4. She has no trouble working all tires. Approach the neighbor's tundra. All his tires worked. Contacted ATEQ.Update recommendation.good.updated.still no sensor detected on my RX400h.insert new 9v battery.still no sensor detected when installed. ATEQ says it's an interference issue and since he was able to run tpms on Tundra and RAV4, something is wrong with tpms, not VT31. Of course, since I'm over 30 days old, JBTools says it's not their responsibility. ATEQ says I need to discuss this with JBTools if I'm not willing to pay for a repair if everything is ok. Kind of a useless tool if it can't call tpms when tpms is on the bus. I proceeded to install a new TPMS. Then tried to upload a new TPMS ID to the control box using Quickset from ATEQ. Problems with Quickset. This is another long story. After much unsuccessful back and forth, ATEQ found a post here on Revain that talks about using a little known setting for Toyota to get Quickset working. Got a new ID in the ECU and the car sees the new TPMS. Just not with VT31. Out of curiosity I ordered Autel TS408pro. He arrived two days later. Amazing Revain. Lithium battery charged. Walked around my RX400h and all five tires worked with Autel. Tried the same with V31 and only two out of five worked. I did this many times and at different times of the day. The position of the sun. The position of the moon. under rain. In the sun. At night. Happy. The VT31 may not be getting enough power from the 9V battery as the battery indicator shows 2/3 with a new battery. I will work and report. It looks like nobody is currently selling the VT31.
