Unfortunately the washer and dryer connections are in the garage. That being said, I have no countertop space to put a laundry basket in when unloading/loading my basket. We put the basket on the dryer which resulted in scratches. As my set is still fairly new (about 1 year old) I decided to buy this to protect the top of my dryer from further scratches. The fit is great and the magnets on it help it stay in place. Someone commented that this doesn't work because new cars don't magnetize but as I said my set was bought brand new in 2018 and it works for me. I won't be using it for ironing so can't comment but the thick lining protects my machine. I'm happy with that.
