Exactly what I needed. It matches the zippers on my jacket.

I have a jacket, the hood is lost. I used the female parts of the product to match the male buttons on my jacket. Went like clockwork. Maybe I'll get multiple options for hoods with these fasteners. The tool that comes with it is perfect. If you don't like hammers, a rubber mallet will do. It has a wider surface so it's easier to use if you're worried about hammer hits. I suppose you can even use a press for maximum security. I think kids can use this product for crafts or adding buttons to their things, bags?
