Review on 🚽 Danco HYR451T HyrdroRight Universal Water-Saving Toilet Repair Kit: Dual Flush Valve, Lever Handle, White- Maximize Efficiency in Your Toilet! by Smiley Edwards

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Arrived with no key part

I am using this to replace my previous Hydroclean model HC660 inflation valve (same supplier bought from Danco, same design) which failed for two reasons: the float was leaking and the valve came loose not immediately when the valve lever was raised. Neither of these failure mechanisms are acceptable for a part that's supposed to last 20-30 years, but that I only installed a few years ago. I wanted to install the dual flush feature that comes with this HYR451T kit. But the dual flush was missing an important green rider; Otherwise, the flush handle will not stay on the flush cord control box. The flush mount also seems cheap and clunky to me. The design depends on a small cable tie that snaps securely into place. It seems unfinished and designed to fail. I'm waiting for the replacement device to arrive. My rating may change later. EDIT: The replacement device arrived and I installed it. It's not great. I installed it on an old 1977 Kohler toilet. The hard reset option works fine. However, even at the highest level, a water-saving partial flush is not enough to flush a sheet of toilet paper. The partial flush is too short to keep the water entering the overflow pipe in the tank long enough to fill the bowl. Definitely unsatisfactory and not recommended. I rate the system three stars overall. Knowing what I know now, I would not have bought it. But I'll leave it installed and go shopping to see if there's anything better. In the meantime, I'm keeping the old crank and lever, as well as the old flapper valve, in case the new system gets too annoying.
