Everything has been thought of.1. The cover comes with different plates to accommodate the switch, square, round, double socket. Just slide it in from the back and you're done. The shell body easily converts from vertical to horizontal by removing the pin and moving it up or sideways. The holes that the cable goes through have a removable plate so you can put them back in when the cable is not in use. You can use the original screw holes for installation, you loosen the screws for the actual socket just enough to install the cover. It has some nifty slots to insert screws without removing them, then slide the cover off and tighten the existing screws. We bought three as our newly built home had a cheap flip up cover and was NOT waterproof. I would buy them again.
