I bought bati and gmaster (money doesn't count - I wanted the best) - I compared them side by side and was shocked at how good bati are! CA is non-existent, contrast is phenomenal, damn sharp - sharper than GM at 1.4-1.6, as sharp as GM at 1.7 - but without CA, GM has, and always has, a serious CA at 1.4 still at 1.7. I shoot wide open 99% of the time - so I don't need a MUSHY 1.4 - there's no point in having a 2x thinner lens to shoot at 1.7. Plus bathtubs are a little faster on focusing and NO CA at all! I had an Otus - and I have to say this Batis is 98% Otus! ). and it makes warm pictures when GM is perfectly NEUTRAL. - which I prefer more I left the baths, returned GM, there are pictures - Crop 5000%!, left GM 1.4, then Bathis 1.8, then GM 1.6
